I am pleased to bring you the latest issue of Queen City Writers, featuring five essays from talented undergraduate writers from schools in New York, Washington, Ohio, and Virginia.

In our first Inquiry piece, Nicole Tanquary uses the principles of Critical Discourse Analysis to examine the power dynamics at work in a tense, thirty-five-second exchange between then-candidate Donald Trump and Univision reporter Jorge Ramos. Laith Shehadeh explores the power of social media and activist-hashtagging in a study of #FreePalestine on Twitter. Alberta Negri peeks into the secret life of motorcycle enthusiasts in her investigative discourse community analysis that disputes the popular stereotype that bikers are nothing but trouble. Lukas Cevetello asks why, in a time when our culture is obsessed with both food and video games, there is no scholarship on the subject of food in role-playing games, and considers what such a scholarly pursuit might reveal. Finally, in our Storming the Gate section, Karyn Keane walks us through the Museum of African American History and Culture and discusses what its curation and artifacts reveal about the venue as a site of public memory.
